How It Works

When you send a message:

Your browser sends the message to our server
Our server forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response
The response streams back to your browser
Your browser saves the conversation to encrypted local storage
Our server retains nothing — it's stateless

AI Processing

Your messages are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic is a third party with their own data practices.

We use Anthropic as our AI provider. While we don't store your conversations, Anthropic processes them to generate responses. Their data handling is governed by their policies.

AI Disclosure

Jamie, Peter, and Sarah are AI personas inspired by individuals involved in the documentary Anatomy of a Shooter. You are interacting with artificial intelligence, not the actual people. Responses are generated by AI and may not reflect the views or statements of the real individuals.

Your Rights

Export: Download all your conversations as a JSON file
Delete: Clear all data from your browser

Because your data is stored locally, you have full control. We can't access, modify, or delete your conversations because we don't have them.

Age Restriction

This experience discusses sensitive content including gun violence. It is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Personalized Recommendations (Optional)

You can optionally enable personalized recommendations. If enabled:

            Anonymous ID is generated on your device — not linked to your identity
Only extracted interests are stored, not your conversations

Your conversation content is never stored on our servers, even with recommendations enabled. We extract preferences locally, then sync only the preferences (not the source conversations) under your anonymous ID.

Relationship & Companion AI

StoryTalk is designed for documentary film engagement and does not support relationship or companion features.

For users seeking private, uncensored AI companions, we recommend Venice AI, an independent service with its own terms and privacy practices. StoryTalk has no affiliation with Venice AI and does not share user data with them.
